Andrew Tutten

Technical Account Manager, Team Lead

My History
Before joining Digital Boardwalk, I worked at the City of Huntsville as a network engineer.

My Background
I started in technology around the age of 16. I took the Cisco Networking Academy courses offered by my high school and started playing around with Linux on old computers at home. I built my first computer from scratch around the same age, buying all the hardware from money I saved working at Wendy’s. My bedroom looked like a computer graveyard with all the old towers and parts laying around. I started professionally in technical support at API Digital in Huntsville, AL. I went from there to work in technical support at Verizon Wireless. I spent two years with Verizon and went back to API Digital in 2010 as a Network Operation Center technician. I worked my way up to Senior Network Engineer before I left in 2015 and worked for the City of Huntsville, AL as a Network Engineer.

My Specialties
I specialize in firewalls, routers, and switches. My foundation is in networking. Hand me a router, I don’t care what branding it has on it, and I’ll make it work.

My Accolades

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Microsoft Certified Professional
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator + Security
  • 2nd place winner at the SkillsUSA internetworking competition among high school students in the state of Alabama.
  • Associate of Applied Science in Network Engineering, Virginia College, 2010

My Hobbies
I come from a family of four kids one of which is my twin sister. I love watching Auburn Football in the fall. I have a side interest in law and like to read anything and everything about it including supreme court opinions in my spare time. I’m also a movie buff and I’m always up to watch something new!

My Favorites
My favorite movie is The Matrix (the first one, not the trilogy), and my favorite book is The Aquariums of Pyongyang by Kang Chol-hwan.

My Guilty Pleasure
Bluegrass music festivals

My Perspective
Digital Boardwalk is a tight-knit team who care about each other. You really get to know the people you are working with. I really enjoy the personal relationships I am able to create with my clients; nothing beats the feeling when you have really helped someone and they know you care about them.
